This was our last assignment of the class and this one was hard. We had to use most of the skills we learned this year and it was hard remembering them. Making the stage was hard but placing the showcase items was easy. I decided to showcase a Bugatti. I had to use previous skills like the use of the magnetic pencil to cut out the car and move it into the showcase. This was hard but it was fun and it helped me refresh my memory about most of the skills I used this year.

This assignment was really fun because we made an animation. This power button turns on then off. I've never made one before so this amazed me. The animation was the fun part the boring part was making the button. I had to change setting to get the aluminum body look and then I made the button turn on then off.

3d version of bungalow

In this assignment I created an amazing looking bungalow. I had to start from the bottom up. I made a cube and I change how it is to get a house. I had to make the doors and windows. Making the roof was a pain and making the skylight was pretty hard. After I made the actual house I added fences and a grassy front lawn. It was fun.

This was my test. I picked out the number 4 and got this. It was really easy to make and it literally took me 5 minutes.

In the next few assignments we will be doing things like this. We will make shapes that we were assigned to make. Each shape is basically the same only thing is that they may look different and they will have different dimensions. They height width and length with differ

In this assignment I used many tools to create shapes and then I used them to write out my own name and after writing my name and making shapes I used the push and pull tool to make it pop out and go from a 2d figure to a 3d figure.

On day 1 I had to get upto step 6. All I did was make the basis of the phone. I made the front and the screen. On day 2 I had to get upto step 14. I made the screen by using the gradient. I had to change half of the screens opacity. After I made buttons under the screen. After the two buttons I put the designs on the screen. On day 3 I had to get upto step 24. I made the keypad for the phone. I had to make the buttons for the keypad which were triangles and then I had to put the signs on the buttons. On day 4 I had to get upto step 28. I had to make the actual buttons for the numbers. I had to write out all the numbers and letters. On day 5 I had to get upto step 33. All I had to to was make the places where you talk and listen.

First I created 2 rectangles. I then placed them on top of each other. I then used pathfinder and one of the rectangles was deleted and part of the rectangle under it was also deleted. I did the same thing again with a rectangle and a circle. I overlapped the circle on the rectangle and used pathfinder. Then with the rectangle with a hole I placed a smaller rectangle in the middle and used pathfinder once more.

I used the line segment tool to make every single line in my last name. Since my last name only has 4 letters and they don't have any curves it was really easy. On top of my letters were the tools I could have used. They were tools like rectangle, arc, spiral, polar grid, and etc.

This is the first project I used on Adobe Illustrator. I used the rectangle tool and ans eclipse tool. I used the line segment tool. I also used several gradient formats. I used the rounded rectangle to make the middle of the usb. I changed the stroke around it and I wrote a text in it.

Questions

1} Why smart filter? What is the difference between

    normal and smart filter?

2} What is quick Masking? Why bother if I can just select

    with marquees or lasso tool?

3} We added a couple of things to the original picture to

    get this "glow" - what were the they and what and at

    what layer did you take away to create the final effect?

Answers

1] Smart Filter is used instead of a traditional filter because unlike the traditional filter, smart filter doesn’t alter the original image. You will have the ability to adjust, remove and hide things, and it won’t destruct the picture.

2] For quick mask you can do things that magnetic lasso or marquees can’t do, like change the opacity of the highlighted color. The traditional way can’t trim as well as quick mask.

3] To add the glow we changed the layer properties from normal to screen. I made a copy. To add the more angel like effect, we added Gaussian blur. To make the glow to our liking we changed the opacity of the copied layer.

First I converted the filter to smart filter. Then I filtered the picture to Gaussian blur. Then I used the paint brush. I then used an airbrush. I then painted over the important features and then I changed the opacity to change the amount of glow the picture has.

First I chose a picture of Scarlett Johansonn. Then I went to the quick mask mode and then to brush mode. I chose the size of the brush and I painted over the hair in the picture. Then by switching the foreground and background colors I cleaned it up and then I inversed the color. In the end I changed the opacity to make the hair look better.

I blurred the picture using motion blur. After the whole picture was blurred I erased the blur on the car so it looked like it was speeding through the picture.

I took a picture of myself and put a flag on it. Then I placed the picture of the flag on top of my face. After that I changed the settings and then I distorted it. I then cleaned it up so its only on my face and not my hair. I duplicated the mask only and I placed it to the side. In the end I placed the original on top and the painted one underneath.

I created a new file, and then I dragged in a brick wall, and a picture of my flag. I rasterized the pics and then I placed the flag on top of the the brick wall pic. I then changed the flag from normal to hard light. I duplicated the wall layer and then I unsaturated the color from it. I then blurred the duplicated layer. In the end I made the wall layer hard light, and I was done.

I used a gradient background and then I put in a picture of a hot dog and popcorn. I replaced the hot dog with a banana, and the popcorn with corn. I wrote a quote I made up, and I wrote facts. I put an outer glow on the text and I put a food bank sign in the corner.
